As Autumn continues to embrace us, the School has once again been a vibrant and vivacious place this week. Highlights have included the Year 6 concert last night, with the accomplishment and bravery of the pupils much admired by parents and staff alike, and the Bookshare in Years 3 to 6 this afternoon.

As is only fitting for the run up to Christmas, the Music department is awash with excitement already! Our Year 5 pupils set the tone before the Half Term with a wonderful Informal Soloists Concert, where around half of the year group delivered performances of an impressively high standard across a wide range of instruments and repertoire.

This week, children in Year 3 have been embracing The Big Draw Festival and its 2022 theme of Come Back to Colour. Using their knowledge of the different types of Ancient Greek temple columns, the children chose to capture the beautiful scrolls of the massive Ionic columns in big drawings.

Our Year 1 children have been acting out The Great Fire of London in our Pudding Lane bakery. They have taken turns being the baker, Samuel Pepys, King Charles II and the people of London as they tried to stop the fire with buckets of water, fire hooks and water squirters.

Congratulations to Isla Davis (Year 6) for being chosen as one of only three runners up in the Maidstone Museums’ Foundation Summer Challenge to create a new MMF mascot. The design brief stated that they were looking for a unique mascot, a fictional character to introduce new challenges.
