It is a stunning afternoon here at School. The School site looks beautiful today, bathed in sunshine with hardly a cloud in the sky. Sunrises and sunsets have also been breath taking; I wonder how many more days we can have like this as the winter progresses.

Indoor Hockey Success

Over the Christmas break, several of our pupils competed at the Indoor Hockey UK Championships. This is a tournament ran independently of England Hockey, aiming to give more athletes a taste of Indoor Hockey, in a highly competitive environment.

The last couple of weeks have been particularly busy for lots of the staff with various Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities, including a couple of late nights for our Nursery and Pre-Prep teams. As in any profession, and perhaps especially true in education when we are always trying to model behaviour to the children, learning from experts and from each other is critically important to the culture; as we often say to the children and staff, ‘better never stops’.

Arena Eventing Success

Last weekend, Amelia P (Year 5) and Isla D (Year 6) travelled to Coombelands to take part in some Arena Eventing. This is a mixture of Show Jumping and Cross Country. It is normally a course made up of 12 to 16 jumps and includes a vast network of left and right turns, which need to be firstly remembered and then secondly navigated with your pony.

As with many social media apps, the minimum age for users on TikTok is 13. However, it is evident that a significant number of children within our School community are regularly using the app, evidenced, amongst other ways, by the number of dances that are being repeated in the corridors and on the playground.
