This week Alvin Shaw, a local magistrate, visited our Year 6 pupils to talk to them about the processes and procedures connected to our law system and the consequences of breaking the law. The students were asked to philosophically explore the concepts of rules, freedom and punishment before finding out what happens when anyone over the age of ten commits a crime.
Mr Shaw’s aim was to inspire our children to aim high and perhaps consider one of the varied and challenging careers within the legal system as well as making clear the consequences of making poor behaviour choices as we grow older and move towards adulthood.
