The Year 2 children enjoyed the most fantastic day at The Big Cat Sanctuary in Smarden. They started the day in the classroom at the Sanctuary where they impressed the teacher, Gemma, with their knowledge of the range of habitats, the layers of rainforests and how animals adapt to the different layers.
Undoubtedly, the most exciting part of the trip was the afternoon tour to meet the big cats! Maya the jaguar was beautiful and, as the sun shone on her coat, her rosette markings were clear to see. Did you know, if you were to shave her coat, you would see her rosette markings on her skin? Just one of the fascinating facts that were learned, from keeper Dan, on this very special day. A huge thank you, to The Big Cat Sanctuary!
