An annual end of term tradition, this year’s whole School Baton Race was won by Holdgate for Seniors, Founder’s for Inters and Lambe’s for the Juniors. Miss Pitcher and Mrs Theobald’s Year 1 classes went back in time this week, with a visit from interactive learning company The Past Presents, who delivered an all day workshop on the Ancient Egyptians. Coming to School in fancy dress, the eager Pharaohs, mummies and slaves learnt about the afterlife, Gods and how to fight a battle – and Reggie even got mummified! The busy sessions ended by living a day in the life of Egyptians in the Bates Hall, building a pyramid, collecting water and grinding flour, before burying the sarcophagus in the chamber.
