The Year 1 children have each been writing their own verse to the poem, ‘What Shall We do with The Grumpy Teacher?’ by Allan Ahlberg.
Inspired by the original poem, they first planned a list of words that ended in ‘ing’ and then an impressive, imaginative list of ideas to punish their teacher! We hope you enjoy our class poem. Watch out in September, Year 2 teachers!
What shall we do with The Grumpy Teacher? by 1T
What shall we do with the grumpy teacher?
What shall we do with the grumpy teacher?
What shall we do with the grumpy teacher?
Early in the morning.
Put a spider on her computer while she is working.
Watch TV when she is teaching.
Bang on the desk when she is singing.
Early in the morning. (by Barnaby)
Take away the book that she is reading.
Shout out loud when she is teaching.
Put lego on the floor to start her screaming.
Early in the morning. (by Ben)
Lock her out of School when we are learning.
Put a cactus on her chair to start her screaming.
Scribble on her desk when she is teaching.
Early in the morning. (by Elsa)
Put pins on the floor where the teacher is walking.
Whoopee cushion on her chair, sounds like she’s popping.
Falling down a step, now she’s crying.
Early in the morning. (by Hadley)
Standing on her desk and dancing.
Having a pillow fight and boxing.
Chatting to my friends and not listening.
Early in the morning. (by Olivia)
Pop on the floor when the teaching is jogging.
Put a whoopee cushion on the chair when the teacher is knitting.
Have no manners when the teacher is jumping.
Early in the morning. (by Tsola)
Eaten by the lion that I was stroking.
Throw her in a volcano which is exploding.
Ants in her pants which kept her itching.
Early in the morning. (by Abiola)
Give her an electric shock, see how she is screaming.
Run around the room shouting.
Put her in a boat, now she is sailing.
Early in the morning. (by Florence)
Hide her ring and leave her crying.
Lock her in the cupboard and leave her snoring.
Drop things on the floor and leave her cleaning.
Early in the morning. (by Theo)
Hang her on a volcano so she is exploding.
Tie her in the cupboard while she’s screaming.
Balancing on her head, now she’s falling.
Early in the morning. (by Evander)
Lock her in the cupboard and leave her crying.
Slam the door and leave her jumping.
Stand on the teacher’s chair and leave her rolling.
Early in the morning. (by Lilly)
Throw hedgehog spikes and leave her crying.
Spill on the floor, now she’s slipping.
Lock her in the cupboard so she’s crying.
Early in the morning. (by Jake)
What shall we do with the grumpy teacher?
What shall we do with the grumpy teacher?
What shall we do with the grumpy teacher?
Early in the morning.
