On the 14th of February, better known as Valentine’s Day, Sutton Valence School was showered with roses. The School Prefects organised this event, allowing all pupils to send a message attached to a red rose to their friends, partner or secret crush. Read Paige Davidson’s account of the day below:
“The day saw the Prefects personally deliver 300 roses to pupils around the School and raise approximately £180 for the British Heart Foundation. Many thanks to the Florist, Sweet William in Headcorn for providing such fresh and beautiful flowers, helping to make the day extra special.
Another event to celebrate the day of love involved a small group of Prefects featuring in a fun adaption of First Dates, with a total of three showings, aired on the big screen in Assembly. During the episodes, the Prefects gave a brief introduction to their story. They were then coupled up and sent to various locations for their dates. The final episode showed the outcome of the dates which saw the contestants either heartbroken or love-struck. The process was great fun for all those involved and the hard work was rewarded by bursts of laughter in the Headmaster’s Assembly.
Thanks must go to all the prefects involved, Mr Fowle and again to Sweet William for making the day a great success.”
Fantastic account Paige, thank you for your report of the day!
