Our Upper Sixth Art students are currently working extremely hard to ensure their artwork pieces are complete to the best of their ability to meet the A Level submission deadline. There is an impressive level of technique, detail and accuracy in the artworks pieces and all students should be proud of their achievements and the progress they have made from the start of the academic year.
There are only a few weeks of School remaining to complete their sketchbook research, analysis, studies and their large scale artwork pieces. There is a broad range of themes and final outcomes based on relationships between people and animals, endangered species, portraits with narrative, mystical creatures, textile-based portraiture, religious and surrealism portraiture and reflections. Students have been experimenting with many techniques and methods such as drypoint printing, collagraph printing, etching, clay sculpture, laser cutting, acrylic painting, textile manipulation and printing and collage.
The Art department would like to invite all members of the SVS community to attend the GCSE and A Level Art Exhibition that will be taking place at the end of June/beginning of July and more information will be posted in the upcoming weeks.
