On 26th September, eight Upper Sixth girls travelled to Rainham to play in the annual U19 County Netball Tournament. Our first game was against Weald of Kent, who play netball all year around. We had a great game with our new WD, Amelia Semmens, who made a lot of interceptions. In our second game against St Dunstan’s, we won 7-2, with Jenna Boltman and Annabel Mansfield working very well as shooters and Jemima Bruce-Lockhart switching to GS at half time to also put in some vital goals. Our games against Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School and Langley Park were secure wins for us with the first convincingly 8-1 and the second 8-3. Kent College Pembury put up a good fight, but with our centre court play being very solid, especially from Jess Richards and Charlotte Wooldridge and defenders such as Anna Harrison getting almost every rebound, we came away with a 10-5 win. In our last two games, we were narrowly beaten by St Lawrence 5-3 and Benenden 10-3. Despite this and due to our string of wins, we finished second in our group, meaning we made it through to the finals in November.
