Next term, the Eco Society is attempting to tackle the impact of fast fashion.
The global impact of fast fashion is astonishing. Two hundred and thirty five million items of clothing were sent to landfills last year alone and 1.2 billion tons of carbon emissions are produced by the global fashion industry annually. Popular high street brands now produce new designs on a weekly basis, leading to an enormous amount of waste.
The SVS swap shop will be hosted over two days starting on the 24th June and we will collecting your unwanted clothing items over the course of the next half of term. They must be clean, good quality and no underwear, swimwear, or socks, please. On the day of the swap shop, you will be able to select from a wide range of garments in exchange for the ones you have donated for free. All clothing left over will be donated to local charity shops.
The Easter holidays are the perfect opportunity for a spring clear out, so get rifling through your wardrobes, empty out your drawers and get donating! Make sure that all donations are brought in a named bag with the number of items that are inside and are handed to your housemaster or housemistress.
