Harry H (Year 5) has shared his art club homework. Harry says, “I have made my sculpture to show how I feel about the current situation and it is called The Struggle. I have created little fact cards about Di and then made his own sculpture based on his style.
I have named my sculpture ‘The Struggle’ because it looks like two people have been tied together trying to get up and be optimistic through the current difficult times. I painted the base in gold because it shows happiness and hope for things to get better.
I have used Di Suvero’s industrial style by using two cast-iron beams that I found on one of my walks and attached them to a floorboard cutoff, which was spare from when my dad and I boarded up the loft. My sculpture has motion because only one of the beams is attached to the base. The other one is freestanding.”
Fantastic creation Harry, well done!
