Mr James Thomas, Headmaster at Sutton Valence School, is delighted to announce that the Governing Body has appointed Mrs Carly Froggatt as the new Head of Pre-Prep at Sutton Valence Preparatory School, effective as of April 2022. Mrs Froggatt will succeed Miss Philippa McCarmick, who departed at Christmas. Mr James Watkins will be Acting Head of Pre-Prep up until April.

The appointment follows a thorough and highly competitive search with a strong list of candidates applying for the post. Mr Thomas commented, “Mrs Froggatt impressed us a great deal with her experience, enthusiasm and commitment to the education of young children.”

Mrs Froggatt is currently the Deputy Head of Pre-Prep at Somerhill Pre-Prep School here in Kent and expresses that, “Educating young people to grow into problem-solvers with resilience and confidence has always been a core belief of mine.”

On her appointment, Carly comments, “I feel very privileged and excited to be joining the School in the role of Head of Pre-Prep. When I visited, I immediately felt the strong sense of dedication and passion from the teachers and love of learning from the pupils. I believe every child’s journey is different and so it should be to ensure we promote our children’s ability to question, learn from others and develop their natural curiosity. It was evident during my conversations with some of the children at SVPS, that they had an excitement for learning and a strong enthusiasm for School life, which was a delight to witness. It is a real honour to be joining the already successful Pre-Prep department and I am looking forward to being part of continuing its success and working alongside the whole SVPS community.”

Mr Thomas is very pleased with the appointment and has every confidence that the Pre-Prep department will continue to go from strength to strength.
