An annual end of term tradition, this year’s whole School Baton Race was won by Holdgate for Seniors, Founder’s for Inters and Lambe’s for the Juniors. This term in English, Year 6 pupils are studying the book The Arrival by Australian author and illustrator, Shaun Tan. Wordlessly, it follows the story of a man who leaves his family and home country to try to better their lives. Wonderful imagery and surrealism fills the book and the children are very much expressing their interpretations of the pictures. Alongside this, they are completing an independent project combining English and Art, which is producing very creative pieces of work. The completed project books will proudly go on display during the Year 6 end of year Art Exhibition.
