On Tuesday evening, 20 SVPS pupils in Years 3-6 made history, by taking part in the School’s first-ever Virtual Soloists Concert.
Having smoothly adjusted to receiving their lessons remotely since the start of this term, our instrumentalists have continued going from strength to strength with many of them ready and eager for an opportunity to perform. Using Zoom meant that pupils could be joined at the concert by friends and family not only at home but also further afield.
The children presented a lovely varied programme (including the world premiere of one pupil’s own compositions) to a receptive audience of beaming relatives, and clearly enjoyed the novelty of this new style of performing.
With barely a technological glitch, the children delivered performances of an exceptionally high standard, on a wide range of instruments and all more than rose to the challenge of this historic event. Well done!
