It has been a fantastic start to the year for the SVS ski racers. They had an enjoyable training session at Chatham last Friday evening, in preparation for the ESSKIA race on Sunday.
As well as this, two teams braved an early start and a long morning to compete in the English Schools’ race with all eight skiers improving their times and confidence throughout the day.
Well done to Thomas Bishop, Harry Heyworth Max Jarvis and Cian Nelson (all Second Form) who represented us in the U14 Boys’ category. In the U16 Boys’ category our team made up of Max Chapman, Evan Henley, Edward Homard and Charlie Wells (all Third Form) did extremely well and have qualified for the English finals taking place in October. It was lovely to see the teams working together and individual performances improving.
If there are any other competent snow skiers who would like to give dry slope racing a go at one of our training sessions, please get in touch with Mrs Head (heade@svs.org.uk).
