Last Sunday, our U14 Boys’ ski team, comprising of Max Chapman, Evan Henley, Edward Homard and Charlie Wells (all Third Form) travelled to Stoke for the British Schools’ Dry Ski Slope Championship. They had done incredibly well to qualify for the Open event, competing against U18 Boys’ ski teams from across the British Isles.
As you can imagine, the standard of racing was extremely high, especially for the Scottish and Welsh skiers. Our four skiers worked brilliantly as a team; encouraging and supporting one another throughout, resulting in a team position of 16th.
All of the boys improved their individual timings, but special mention must go to Max for coming 32nd and Charlie who was 48th. This is a fantastic result for such a young team, who have improved so much already this season. Their future on the ski slopes looks bright.
In addition to this result, and after solid performances at every stage of this competition, Max Chapman, has been selected by ESSKIA to join their squad for the Norway 2023 camp in April next year. This is a huge achievement at this especially competitive time. We wish Max all the best for the upcoming winter season and look forward to hearing about his future successes.
