This week, 29 Fifth Form students completed their Silver expedition practice. It has been 18 months in preparation, but they finally managed to get underway on Tuesday of this week. They all completed three days of walking along the Kent Countryside pathways, with some challenges along the way, including stinging nettles, brambles and the weather being very warm, they ended up with some very scratched limbs and areas of sunburn.
Once back at School, they then had to set up a tent and cook a meal. Due to the restrictions, they did not have to camp out but went home to a more comfortable bed.
However, by the end of Thursday afternoon, they all seemed to have enjoyed themselves, despite some very tired looking faces! Many are looking forward to completing the qualifying practice and moving onto the Gold award in the summer holidays.
