Callum Davis (Lower Sixth) has recently been selected to compete for the Kent 25-yard prone junior shooting team. He has written the below report. “This would entail me shooting ten cards throughout the winter. I will be shooting the cards over the coming months in competition with other counties.”
I have been shooting for three years but, due to Covid, my training ground to a halt. When the restrictions were lifted, I shot three times a week aiming to one day represent my country. Shooting has become a large part of my life both in and out of School and getting into the county team is a real stepping stone towards my goal.
When I first started to shoot, it was at School during the period 6 activity and I instantly fell in love with the sport. With a lot of persuasion and some good results, I managed to persuade my Dad to purchase me a new rifle to use at my shooting club outside of School. Through the wind and rain, I have practised regularly and feel proud of my accomplishment of getting into the team. Now I have to prove to the county that I can shoot well in competitions over the winter!”
Congratulations Callum!
