This week, children in Reception have opened our laboratories in the role play areas, investigated floating and sinking and learned to ask questions. They have tried to solve problems, sometimes with success and sometimes we had to try again. They have been busy looking at number sentences and adding different amounts. In Literacy, they have recapped sounds previously covered and been introduced to two new ones. They have talked about things we would like to achieve in 2023.

Next week our focus will be on “forces” and a special visitor will be peddling their way to explain the mechanics of a bike. On Tuesday, we visit the science lab for a science workshop. In Numeracy we shall be covering Symmetry and in Literacy continuing with our phonics and sentence writing.
