Last Sunday, Zeb Courtney and Darren Finch attended the U11 South East England Prep Schools Football trials. A very competitive trial saw over 60 boys from the South East train and play, in an attempt to get selected into the A Squad or Development squad. Both gave very good accounts of themselves, which has resulted in selection.
Zeb has been selected for the A squad, this means he will have the opportunity to play against some professional academies and other regional sides from across England. Darren has been selected for the Development squad, which means he, alongside Zeb, will have the opportunity over the Easter holidays to attend a residential training camp and then attend the Gothia World Youth Cup in July. This competition (held in Sweden) is the biggest football tournament in the world, where over 80 countries are represented from across the globe. The boys will be part of the opening ceremony, which will be attended by over 52,000 people.
Huge congratulations to both of these boys on their success.
