Reception had a visit this week from Maidstone Museum so they could learn more about their dinosaurs topic. They learnt how fossils were created with heat, pressure and time for the bones, claws and teeth to be turned into fossils.
Reception also had the opportunity to do observational drawings of a tyrannosaurus rex skull, where they could see the size of the teeth. They had a variety of fossils to create rubbings from and investigated fossils with magnifying glasses to identify what sort of creature or plant it came from.
The children thoroughly enjoyed being palaeontologists for the morning.
