This week the Reception children have been learning some tricky new sounds in their Literacy lessons, ‘ay, ee’ and ‘igh’. They have also been busy in their Mathematics lessons too; they have been reading and ordering higher numbers and beginning to understand that teen numbers are ten plus some more.

They began a new topic ‘Around the World’ based on the counting book My Granny Went to Market by Stella Blackstone and Christopher Corr. The children were flying on their magic carpets to all sorts of different places!

There was great excitement on Shrove Tuesday when the children went to the dining hall to find a very organised band of parents cooking delicious pancakes. Oh, the decisions over which topping to have!
