Have you ever wondered how sound is made? How fast and how far sound can travel? Or why certain animals can hear certain sounds and we cannot?
Pupils in Year 4 explored these questions, and many more in their Science lessons. They completed a sound survey of the Prep building. The noisiest area was very surprising, and not because it was loud, but because of the range of sounds they could hear. Did you guess correctly? It was the hallway at the front of the Coles Building.
The pupils explored the diverse ways in which sound could be created and changed and put this knowledge together (along with their Design and Technology skills) to create a range of marvellous musical instruments. Some pupils even challenged themselves to create an instrument with the four families of an orchestra. Well done, Year 4!
