A landscaped wildflower meadow in the grounds at Compton Verney House, an Art Gallery and Garden in Warwickshire, was the seed that grew the Year 5 ‘Morris Meadow for SVPS’ artworks.
Compton Verney’s Arts and Crafts Exhibition held in 2015 focused on the link between house and garden and how nature had been a primary source for designers like William Morris. A mown parterre (a formal garden) based on Morris’ trellis design was developed by the landscape designer Dan Pearson.
Year 5 used collage techniques and the many designs of William Morris, abloom with nature, to landscape a Morris meadow for SVPS. The naturally eye-catching artworks compliment the beauty of our SVPS School House.
