Never has the sound of busy, happy children sounded sweeter! This week has seen our community reunited and the children have made the very most of being back on the School site, throwing themselves into their work and play (and handwashing!) with great enthusiasm. We have made the most of the lovely weather with lots of time spent outside and there has been non-stop chatter during break times, as children have enjoyed catching up and making new friends.
During our beginning of term Zoom assembly, I was delighted to announce the names of our new Head Boy and Head Girl for this term. I have no doubt that Seb H and Lydia H will relish the leadership opportunities that come with the role and that they will continue to set a wonderful example for the rest of the School. Seb and Lydia will be supported by a new team of Prefects who will, undoubtedly, make a valuable contribution to many aspects of School life.
With assemblies now taking place via Zoom, we will aim to record next Thursday and Friday’s Superstar and Celebration Assembly so you can watch at home should you wish to. When there are awards that need to be handed out, I will do this after the assembly so I can also congratulate the prize-winner in person.
This week we launched our new subject, Preparation for Learning, Leadership and Life. The focus has been on Thinking Skills and metacognition and today we have been learning about our amazing brains and how we can look after them. What a great way to kick off a new term of learning and thinking!
