As is only fitting for the run up to Christmas, the Music department is awash with excitement already! Our Year 5 pupils set the tone before the Half Term with a wonderful Informal Soloists Concert, where around half of the year group delivered performances of an impressively high standard across a wide range of instruments and repertoire.
By the time you read this, the Year 6 pupils will have just completed their own Informal Soloists Concert which is also set to be hugely entertaining with some very accomplished performances. Again, around half of the children in the year group are involved – it is fantastic to see so many of the children making such super progress with their instrumental music.
The Chamber Choir have been getting into the spirit of all things Christmassy nice and early, trying on and sizing up their cassocks in readiness for the Carol Service. If you have any doubts about their enthusiasm, you only need to look at the accompanying photograph for evidence!
Rehearsals are in full swing as the Choir prepare not only for our own SVPS Carol Service, but also the Senior School Carol Service which they will also have the honour of playing a role in. Other exciting ventures for the Chamber Choir are in the pipeline – watch this space!
