On the 23rd August, the SVS Equestrian team travelled to Hickstead to compete in the Inter-County Show Jumping and Inter-County Dressage Championships.

The team, consisted of Daisy Hills (2021 H), Jessica De Lucy (Upper Sixth), Oliver Barr (Fifth Form), Alfie Miles (Fifth Form) and Maisey Russell (Fifth Form). All of them rode incredibly well across both disciplines, securing a number of excellent placings.

In the showjumping, Alfie, Daisy and Oliver placed second in the team 1metre class, with Alfie also riding individually in the impressive 1.10metre class, finishing first and third on his two horses.

The Dressage team had an equally successful day with Daisy, Jessica and Maisey coming second out of ten national teams. Each of the girls also rode beautifully in their individual classes with Jessica finishing third in the county preliminary class and seventh in the novice; Maisey was placed seventh out of a huge class of 26 riders in the pop-up dressage; Daisy came first and sixth with her two horses in the novice class, as well as being placed second overall in the elementary class.
