We are delighted to announce that Grace Scrivens (Lower Sixth) made her debut for the 1st XI Cricket team last Saturday against The Judd School in a Twenty/20 match. In doing so, she became the first female player to represent the School’s senior team. Grace bowled well, finishing with figures of 4-0-18-2. Batting at number six, she scored eight runs in a low scoring game but was involved in a valuable 29 run partnership which helped the 1st XI go on to win the fixture.
Grace’s Cricket is progressing extremely well this season and, as well as playing for the 1st XI, she is currently playing for the Sunrisers women’s team, the Kent Cricket women’s team and the England women’s Academy. She is a real cricketing talent and we look forward to following her progress.
Grace is studying at Sutton Valence School having received a bursary from The 1576 Fund. The fund provides financial support to allow deserving, local children to benefit from the unique education we can offer at the School. The bursary fund is now entering its fifth year since the first recipient, Harvey Beaton (2019 F) joined the School in 2017. Harvey, an outstanding Rugby prop, has gone on to sign with Saracens and receive England Under 20 caps.
Congratulations on your achievement Grace, what an exciting future you have ahead of you.
