Earlier in August, a group of SVS students embarked on their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award adventure.
Despite the typical Lake District rain, there was one glorious morning of welcome sunshine. Over four days, our groups trekked an impressive average of 80km, with one group reaching an altitude of 803m by climbing The Old Man of Coniston on their final day.
We are proud to announce that all qualifying expeditions were successfully completed despite the challenging weather and a few injuries. Now, these determined participants are on the home stretch – just needing to complete their Physical, Skill, Volunteering and Residential sections to achieve their Gold Award.
