The students of Sutton Valence School in Maidstone have received their GCSE results today and there is a great deal to celebrate. Almost half of the grades were at levels 9, 8 or 7 (A*-A equivalent) which shows the excellent achievement of many of the cohort. Equally the School is incredibly proud of the ‘value added’ levels, which demonstrate the significant improvement students make through a combination of their own application to their studies, as well as outstanding teaching and support from the staff.
The Headmaster, James Thomas, commented that: “Following the excellent A Level results at Sutton Valence School last week, I am so proud today to report an excellent set of GCSE results for last year’s Fifth Form (Year 11) students. In highly challenging circumstances, including being the first cohort to sit examinations since 2019, the students have achieved a great deal and they should be very pleased. The support and guidance from the parents and highly committed staff here should also be acknowledged as they are all key parts of the process. These results provide a great platform for the students to embark on Sixth Form life and beyond and we congratulate them”.
