The first gala of the Swimming season took place on Thursday, here at Sutton Valence School. Read below for Miss Gray’s account of the evening:
“A strong team of 30 swimmers took part in a home gala against Ashford School. They are always tough competition, however, this did not stop our pupils giving it their all. There were some excellent individual wins from Evie Smith (First Form), Caitlin Calverley (Second Form), Isla Murphy (Third Form), Heston King (Fourth Form) and Maximillian Reeves (Fourth Form). We also came first in the Inter Girls 4x25m Front Crawl relay and Senior Boys 4x25m Front Crawl relay. This was a point scoring gala; the lowest score would win. Sutton Valence finished with 157 points and Ashford received 129 points. Although we did not come away with a victory, it was truly excellent to see so many swimmers involved and giving it their all.”
