Last weekend saw our U16 Boys’ Ski race team set off for Norwich for the ESSKIA National dry slope finals. The team, comprising of Max Chapman, Evan Henley, Edward Homard and Charlie Wells (all Third Form) had qualified for this competition via the South East regionals. It was a huge event, with skiers from all around England representing some of the country’s top schools, but the boys stayed calm and all skied exceptionally well. As a team they came sixth overall which is hugely impressive, especially as they are such a young team.
The following day saw the team take part in the Open Championship, battling for a place in the British final. Despite all improving their times from the previous day, the team narrowly missed out on qualifying. The future is looking bright for these young skiers who showed excellent determination, team work and bonhomie over a challenging and demanding race weekend. We are very proud of you.
