Our Second Form students undertook a project to apply for a Blue Peter green badge. Their projects addressed environmental issues in a number of creative ways. Some of our students chose to create campaigns to tackle the human impact on the environment and others created displays to raise awareness of key issues.
They were given time to research their ideas and come up with a theme and then spent two lessons and their prep time to finish their project.
The stand out projects included:
Angus Brown – model to show the effects of deforestation
Elliemay Clare – model to show plastic pollution and the effect it has on the ocean
Silas Handley – ‘Ten little things’ campaign for students

4. Recycle it;
5. Find a new way to use it;
6. Unless it is recycled, do not buy it;
7. Grow your own food;
8. Buy local produce;
9. Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves;
10. Leave it better than you found it.
