During their Design and Technology lesson this week, our Second Form pupils undertook an exciting STEM challenge. Pupils were given 30 minutes to design and manufacture a flying or falling device that would stay in the air for as long as possible and then land as close as possible to a given target.
The pupils put into practice a range of design and engineering principles including researching, problem-solving, creative thinking, understanding and applying mechanical principles, designing, prototyping and testing. Miss Latter was hugely impressed with not only the superb outcomes but also the fantastic teamwork on display within the groups!
When testing the outcomes, it was a very close competition that saw a tie between two groups.
Very well done to all the Second Form students.
