Our Year 4 children have been getting their teeth stuck into their new Science topic on digestion and food chains. They have learnt about the first stage of the digestive system. In particular, the different types of teeth such as incisors, canines and molars, as well as considering why they have different shapes.
This week, they have continued following this learning journey by asking the question, “What happens to my food once swallowed?”. Did you know it only takes around six seconds for food to reach your stomach?
Next week, we will continue to discover what happens to our food and are looking forward to making ‘poo’ the week after! Mr Strydom assured us that, although it might get messy, at least it won’t be smelly!
