This week in 5RE, we have been looking at the Bible, undertaking some independent research to find answers to questions such as ‘When was the Bible first written?’ and ‘What language was it written in?’.

We then tried ‘code cracking’ so that we could empathise with the translation work that had to be undertaken, both long ago and today, ensuring that the Bible is accessible to all, free from the constraints of languages.  Sometimes this task proved quite frustrating, as there was often one symbol for two or three letters of the alphabet, so we had to use our initiative to fathom out the ‘best fit’ in order to ‘crack’ the secret codes!
