Callum Davis and Daniel Wild (both Lower Sixth) have been selected to represent England in the BSSRA Home Countries National Match 2022. This is a prestigious achievement and is testament to the boys’ hard work and dedication to the sport over the last few years.
Both students have not only been shooting regularly at the School shooting range and through the CCF at Bisley, but have also been regular attendees of the Tunbridge Wells Target Shooting Club, where they have both represented Kent. The selection for the Schools National Match was determined by an average of scores over the last academic year, including the BSSRA postal league that the School has entered for the first time this year.
They have impressed the selection board with both their ten-bull target scores and with their performances at the recent inter-school long-range events at Bisley. Daniel will be in the England B team, for which he will receive BSSRA national colours, and Callum is in the England C team, for which he will receive national honours.
They will have to shoot two ten-bull targets and post them off to be scored against other Home Countries teams. This is an unprecedented achievement for SVS Shooting and both boys should be proud of their achievements.
Best of luck to them both on shooting the targets over the next couple of months.
