Year One are enjoying learning about Ancient Egypt. This week, they have painted pictures of themselves as Egyptian Gods depicting things they are interested in and even giving themselves an animal head, just like the Egyptian Gods.
They have also all successfully created their own Shaduf’s. A Shaduf is a hand-operated device for lifting water, invented in ancient times and still used in India, Egypt and some other countries to irrigate the land. It consists of a long, tapering, nearly horizontal pole mounted like a seesaw.
Well done Year One, a brilliant start to your topic.
