Head’s Lines – 16.12.22
As the School breaks up for the Christmas holidays (albeit Little Lambs Nursery will continue to operate until Wednesday 21st December), we can look back on a busy and varied term. We have just held the final assembly of term with children from Reception to Year 6 there to celebrate, the first time all of these year groups have come together in an assembly since the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, which happened so soon after the start of term in September. The mood then was sombre and respectful; the mood today was rather more jubilant and raucous!

With 76 pupils on an overseas trip, our visit to Poland was always going to be epic and it started with an epic delay at Stansted Airport! Despite the extra 12 hours that we had to inspect the departure lounge, not one of the participants whinged or moaned, we remained upbeat and hopeful we would arrive in Kraków before the end of the day. Once we arrived, the difficulties of the previous day melted away as we were met with a picture-perfect scene that looked like it was straight from a Christmas card.

On Tuesday, the Senior Strings performed at the Clothworkers' Hall, London to Guild members during their Christmas dinner. As you may be aware, the School was founded by William Lambe the master of the Clothworker’s Guild in the late 16th century, and the school was governed by them until they handed it over to the United Westminster Foundation in the early 20th century.
