On Saturday we celebrated 150 years of rugby at Sutton Valence School! The 1st XV kicked things off with an incredible victory over Cranbrook, cheered on by an amazing home crowd.
Afterwards, Old Suttionians gathered for a delicious curry and crumble lunch, where Director of Rugby Tom Ellis, the Headmaster, and former staff member and rugby coach John McCormick (1964-2005) gave inspiring speeches about the past, present and future of SVS rugby. First Team Captain Brennan O’K also delivered a wonderful speech, sharing his pride in leading the team on such a historic day.
The day also featured a Rugby Heritage Display in Reception and the Hamilton Room, showcasing 150 years of memorabilia, photographs and stories that celebrate the legacy of the sport at Sutton Valence School.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to honour this milestone.
