The Chamber Choir had the great honour of performing at the renowned Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate in Ypres.

The day began with an early departure from Sutton Valence School, travelling by Eurotunnel to Belgium. Students and parents had the opportunity to visit several important historical sites, including cemeteries and memorials that offered moments of quiet reflection.

The choir rehearsed in the beautiful St George’s Memorial Chapel and afterwards there was time to explore the historic town of Ypres, including a stop at the famous Leonidas Chocolate Shop.

The day culminated in a moving performance by our Chamber Choir at the Menin Gate, a wonderful moment for everyone present. The trip was a powerful reminder of the importance of remembrance, leaving students and parents alike with lasting memories of history, reflection and pride.
