An annual end of term tradition, this year’s whole School Baton Race was won by Holdgate for Seniors, Founder’s for Inters and Lambe’s for the Juniors. Children in Year 2 have had an exciting return to School by starting the week off with pancakes made kindly by the Parents’ Association.
This week the children looked at Birds of Paradise by Eric Carle, to inspire their own artwork. Having prepared their backgrounds, they moved on to using various sponges to create colourful patterns that resemble tropical bird feathers. Finally, the children selected stencils to draw around and cut out, before piecing together their own bird of paradise. They are looking forward to showing their artwork in the Year 2 Art Showcase, on Wednesday 8th March, to their parents.
