Children in Year 2 have been introduced to their new topic ‘Earth’. The class watched short clips of different habitats around the world. They saw the natural beauty of the planet and how climate change impacted on this. The children started thinking about how they could help look after our planet. They initiated using construction to create a model of the earth and built their own invention of a machine to plant trees in forests around the world.

The children began Science this term by investigating what attributes are needed to be Alive, Once Alive or Never Alive. They decided that we needed a fourth category – Conversation Corner, to discuss where to place fire, the moon and a pepperoni pizza!
