The beginning of a new academic year is always a wonderful thing: new classes, new friends, new shoes and…new books! In English lessons this term, the children have begun studying an excellent range of class texts, including Arthur and the Golden Rope by Joe Todd Stanton; The Firework Maker’s Daughter by Philip Pullman; The Girl Who Stole an Elephant by Nizrana Farook; and Macbeth by William Shakespeare.
This variety of literature takes the children on adventures across the globe, far and wide, meeting an eclectic mix of characters, welcoming a wide range of reading and writing possibilities. This is always an exciting time of year, knowing what wonders await the children!
