This week saw the return of the Prep School STEM experience at the Senior School. Our Year 5 pupils spent the day in the Physics department, led by a group of skilled and enthusiastic Lower Sixth students. The pupils undertook a practical action challenge to design and build a model wind turbine that would lift a cup of plastic cubes from the floor.
Through this challenge, the pupils considered how STEM provides solutions for global issues, in this case, for a community in Peru who do not have access to electricity. The younger pupils demonstrated their teamwork and problem-solving skills with the support of the Sixth Form. It was a pleasure to see the laboratories buzzing with activity and the fantastic collaboration between the Senior and Prep pupils.
