Concert season is well and truly upon us and it got underway with a bang last week! Our Chamber Choir boarded the minibuses in bright sunshine and headed through the beautiful Kent countryside to Hole Park in Rolvenden where they had been invited to perform at the Wealden Times Midsummer Fair.
The children sang a varied programme of seven songs providing entertainment to the enthusiastic and appreciative audience of fair attendees (including a fair few SVPS parents)! The children loved the thrill of performing in public and rose to the challenge admirably, despite the unusual demands of singing outside in an unfamiliar (and a little windy) environment, and not to mention the distraction of the delicious aromas wafting over from nearby food stalls!
As if that was not enough, the Year 6 children put on a fabulous performance the same afternoon at their last ever SVPS Informal Soloists’ Concert. What a treat to see the fruits of their hard work and the results of their musical development over their time at SVPS. They did us proud with some wonderfully entertaining and accomplished performances. Well done, Year 6!
