Since taking over their new roles within the CCF, the Lower Sixth cadets have been developing their leadership skills. On Wednesday, we were fortunate to have a visit by David Burrill who was, for 32 years, a member of the British Army Intelligence Corps. He ran a tabletop leadership and intelligence exercise based on events in the Falklands Islands. This required the cadets to listen, analyse and plan a series of activities in response to a developing scenario.
It was the first time they had encountered such an exercise. The exercise was a success with the cadets fully engaging in the subject matter, interspersed with penetrating questions from David to guide and lead them to appropriate conclusions.
We are grateful to David for giving up his time, experience and expertise to deliver an experience the cadets will remember.
