Head Boy, Rhys M (Year 6) writes about his newfound hobby – Park Run, below.

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone involved in making me the new Head Boy and congratulate Sienna on becoming Head Girl. I am glad that you feel that I am ready for such responsibility and I will do my best to make you all proud in my final term at SVPS.

Today I would like to talk about my newfound hobby, Park Run. Every Saturday at 9am, a five-kilometre walk, jog or running event takes place in many parks and open spaces across the world. Last Saturday, for the first time, I accepted the challenge of running five kilometres with my family (do not worry, I soon ran off and left them way behind). I was exhausted by the end but felt a great sense of achievement as I crossed the finish line. Park Run is free and run by kind volunteers, so if you ever feel like putting on your running shoes, please do give it a try, you may even see me there!
