This week, a representative from Amnesty International came in to talk to our Year 6 children. They were introduced to the concept of human rights and found out what they are and when they were agreed. The pupils watched clips of other children around the world talking about their desperate situations; where their human rights have been infringed. They discussed the plight of refugees and the impact of political and religious unrest. The talk was thought-provoking and the springboard for deeper thought into how we fit into the community of the bigger and wider world as children and adults.
