On Monday we were delighted to hear two Old Suttonians, Laura Horley (2018 F) and Henry Jones (2019 H), had received their DofE Gold award certificates. The ceremony was held at St James’s Palace. Laura and Henry were in the Entrée Room, where women used to use the full-length mirrors to check that their ankles could not be seen before advancing to the Monarch in the Throne Room. There were over 200 participants and The Earl of Wessex talked to all the groups. In our room, the participants were also given an inspirational talk from the adventurer Laura Kennington, who then gave each young person their certificate. Receiving the Gold award is a very proud moment and we wish both Laura and Henry all the best for the future.
